​YOUNG ADULTS BIBLE STUDY   

Federated Church (200 So. Columbia Ave., Morris) invites all young adults (ages 18-40) to join them for scriptures and supper on Friday, February 28 at 6:00pm.

Wednesday, March 5: Supper at 5:15pm with Worship at 6:30pm

UPDATED SUNDAY SCHOOL SCHEDULE   

The Sunday school schedule has been updated for the remainder of the school year.  Classes will meet from 10:00 to 10:45am on the following Sundays: March 9, March 23, April 13, April 27 and May 4.  The students will be playing bells during the 11:00am worship service on March 23 and April 27.

FOOD SHELF DRIVE FOR STEVENS COUNTY   

From now until Wednesday, March 5, goods and monetary donations will be given for Minnesota March Food Share Month. Make checks to FLC and in the memo line please note Stevens County Food Shelf.  Place monetary donations in the offering plate at worship or mail to the church office. Place in kind goods at the collection point in the narthex. Remember, needs fall into the categories besides Food, also Household and Self Care.

BIRTHDAY IN A BOX DONATIONS   

While you are bringing items for our food shelf collection at church, please consider donations of cake mix and canned frosting.  The Sunday School students will be packaging "Birthday in a Box" for the Stevens County food Shelf on Sunday, March 9 during their Sunday School time at 10:00am.  You can leave these on the table with the other food shelf donations.  Did you know that you can make a cake with cake mix and 1 can of sprite?  No eggs or oil needed.   So, besides the cake mix and frosting, we will be adding a can of sprite, a disposable cake pan, birthday candles and other items to make someone's birthday special.  Other supplies added will be purchased with a Thrivent grant.  Thank you for your donations!

MORRIS ELEMENTARY SNACK COLLECTION/DONATIONS   

There are numerous students at Morris Area Elementary who cannot bring a snack to school for their snack breaktime.  Morris area churches have volunteered to provided these much needed snacks for all students in the elementary.  100-120 boxes needed!  Please donated by Sunday, March 30!  Please make sure crackers/snacks are not expired as they cannot be used.  Some suggested snacks:  Ritz or Club crackers, saltines, graham crackers, plain animal crackers (not frosted), Cheez-It, Goldfish, pretzels, granola bars, fruit/applesauce cups (please provide spoons).  Not recommended:  cookies, fruit roll-ups, candy/candy bars, sugary cereals, perishable foods

EASTER GARDEN  

Once again we will be having an Easter Garden around our altar to decorate for Easter. If you would like to order a plant to contribute to this garden, please fill out the form located in the March newsletter and return it to the church office by Sunday, April 6.  We will be ordering a variety of Easter plants.  Cost is $15.  Plants can be picked up after the Easter worship service. 

 

GLACIAL RIDGE CONFERENCE WOMEN'S SPRING GATHERING   

Monday, April 7 at Trinity Lutheran in Cyrus. Join us in welcoming Kim Dickey of Global Health Ministries! You are cordially invited to support Stevens County Food Shelf as InKind Offering, while other offerings will be divided between Synod and Global Health Ministries. We will enjoy the theme Sowing Seeds of Generosity, share laugher and joy, and create precious memories together.  Light lunch registration $10 from 4:00-4:30pm. Speaker is open to the public at 6:00pm.

​PASTORAL VISITS

If you or someone you know is hospitalized, in a nursing home, or home-bound and would like a pastoral visit or Holy Communion, please contact church office at 320.589.3242. Hospital and nursing home staff can not contact the church without permission.

INCLEMENT WEATHER 

When necessary, weather cancellations will be communicated primarily through the local radio station (FM 95.7 and AM 1230).  We will strive to also list any cancellations on our Facebook page and this website.
